Previous Name: Lady Vex'ahlia de Rolo, Baroness of the First House of Whitestone, Mistress of the Grey Hunt
Myth: Critical Role
Past Life: Vex'ahlia, or more often Vex, was one half of a set of half-elf twins born out of wedlock to Elaina of Byroden, and Syldor Vessar of Syngorn. Byroden was where they spent the earliest, and happiest parts of their childhoods, with Syldor having no interest in his bastard half-breed children until they were old enough to show promise and become a problem. At that point, they were taken to Syngorn for education, for training, and to learn their place was never going to be wholly in the realm of their father, something Vax'ildan, her other half never seemed to mind. Vex felt that cut rather deeply. Losing their mother to a dragon took the only other home they'd known away from them as well.
Over the years, Vex and Vax, along with their chosen family of Vox Machina (and her beloved bear Trinket) would go on to save the world. A lot. In the end she couldn't save her brother from the deal he had made with the Matron of Ravens for Vex's life, but he went to his rest knowing that the world had been rescued from the rise of true evil, and their mother had been avenged. She raised a family. Loved her husband Percy. Passed old and beloved, and snowdrops grew upon her grave.
Current Name: Leah Ambrose
Age: 24
Occupation: Dog Walker
Personality: Leah has been lonely her whole life. She grew up among a large extended 'family' and even though she didn't doubt her parents loved her, she needed to keep busy not to feel lost. There's a covetous streak to her, but she wants experiences more than things. She is more than a little restless and it has led to her leaving people behind just as she started to grow roots, but it doesn't come across as chaotic. More like she's searching. She would probably sleep better at night if she knew for what. She is soft-hearted in the extreme when it comes to children and animals, and she is not afraid to call someone a dick if that's what they're being.
Background: Leah's life has been a long, circuitous ramble. She grew up in a small town, the only child of a couple who walked a weird tightrope of homesteading hippies. Maybe granola rednecks? Whatever they were, they valued living with intention in their Pacific Northwest plot of mixed farm and forest. There was room to climb trees, to hunt mushrooms, to hunt deer. Not a compound kid, even if some people would look at their intentional community as a compound, she was given her parents blessing to go college, where she thought to major in agricultural sciences. It turned out the world was wider and weirder and once she started moving she didn't want to stop. What was she looking for? She wasn't sure. But it was out there. Not back on the farm. Since leaving school after her freshman year she's had about eighty different jobs: housekeeper, barista, wilderness fire fighter, apprentice bee keeper, clerk at an auto parts store, food delivery, and most recently dog walker. Dogs love her. She loves dogs. And on the side she runs a pretty popular Instagram of her best (four-legged) friends. She's recently moved to New Orleans, having decided to follow the Mississippi all the way down. She's considered, maybe, possibly trying school out again, but part of her feels like that ship has sailed -- that she's too old, and was never 'book smart' enough. For now she's getting her feet under her, building a regular clientele, and looking for the next adventure.
